For some reason, after every con I want to write a butt ton of fan fiction, but I know for a fact it'll never happen. Blame the RPer in me.

I've been a long time fan of Steampunk stories ever since it was introduced to me at a geek convention last year, so maybe I can be concidered a short time fan. Either way since then I've been listening to Abney Park (Whom I'm going to go see in Mass in September), and reading my fair share of Steampunk stories, which if you want to try them out, I have a list of suggestions. But today I discovered Dieselpunk...And I love it. Let me explain, I am also a fan of the 1940's-1950's era of American culture, from the art decco to even the political drama that took place with America's Start of the Cold War, and our Quazi-isolationism. And that is

So you know its hot outside when your fuse snaps, and your AC dies, and you die a little inside. Anyways, I've been pretty distracted from my writing, and its a very sad thing. With looking for another job, working small repair jobs for the community, spending time with my beautiful girlfriend, and play Dynasty Warriors 7 too much (Thank you mike). I get most inspired when its during the summer though, just sitting outside strumming the bass and sipping some Magic Hat and enjoying the atmosphere. I haven't been doing a lick of that at all. I do however tonight, plan on posting a Blues song I made last year, which I still need to complete th

Thank you so much for the :+devwatch:! :D
Thanks for the favorite!
Hey, thank you so much for the kind words. Your advice really made me feel a lot better and reminded me not to stress out so much over every little thing, haha. I definitely let anxiety get the best of me sometimes. I really appreciate it-
Are there any Beat Poets you recommend reading in particular? I'm sure I would certainly enjoy their work, I've read a couple of Ginsberg's works before and liked them a lot!
I actually always suggest reading "On the Road" by Jack Kerouac as a starter into the genre, its been a classic ever since the day it was released and not a hard book to find. If you're brave and think you can handle it, "Naked Lunch" by Williams S. Burroughs is another one, but it takes a lot to understand (It was pretty much written in a drug induced haze, and it shows).

As for Ginsberg, Howl is the staple and the overall feel of the whole movement for the poetry aspect, alongside Kerouac's "Dharma Bums".
Thank you for the suggestions, I will certainly check these out. I actually read On the Road a while ago in high school but I want to re-read it. I've heard of Naked Lunch before and I'm up for the challenge, haha. Thank you! :)
thanks for the fave
Thanks so much for the add. I took a look around your gallery and you also have some great stuff. Keep up the good work!
